Wow, where to begin.
Well, last year was a good year for me overall, even with all the issues I had here and there. For the first time in many years, I was able to get outside and actually do some things!! I was able to sand and 'finish out' (paint/varnish) our screened in porch, plus mostly keep up with the yard work. My garden still suffered badly, especially once the heat hit, as I was using all of my energies elsewhere and just didn't have it in me to keep up with watering and weeding.
We also painted the outside of the house - for the first time in 19 years!! LOL! But, we got it done!!
So far this year, things have been even better - I've dug 21 post holes, and mixed the concrete for each of them so we could build a chain-link fence for our small backyard and new puppy, Parker. Of course, the other older dogs and the cat sure appreciate this as well!! No coyotes for them to worry about!
We got a small electric pole saw for trimming tree branches around the house - well, I took the pole off and have been using it to clean up an area below the back yard so that we can see through it first of all, and to help clean up so there are less bugs in there too. It's been a lot of work!!!
I am still taking care of the yard work - only this year I have a riding lawn mower to help. There will still be more than plenty of weed eating I'll have to do, but the riding mower will really make a difference!
I've moved over to container gardening, so everything is in pots now, and in the backyard. This will be much easier for me to be able to keep up with this year! YAY!!
I've also planted 2 elderberry trees!! I'm so very excited about this!! I ordered lavender plants as well, so those are growing nicely in the backyard, while the elderberry trees are doing very nicely in the front yard (but across the driveway).
I'm out wild harvesting some herbs from time to time (lots of walking!!), making medicinal tinctures and oils.
I've managed to get in a very nice patch of oats already as well for my avena sativa (milky oat) tincture I make. Should be a really good crop!!! YAY!!!
And, of course, I'm still chasing around a little puppy all day long too!!
So, what kind of symptoms am I still living with, as that is something else we always want to know about others as they are improving. So, let's see if I can figure this out.
*Fatigue - adrenal or infection driven?
*Appetite issues - still working on improving this, but it's better.
*GI - functioning better, but still not good. More on this below.
*Joint swelling/pain - arthritis of some type is all I know. I have the possibility of 3 different types!
*Fingers, hands, feet, toes swell randomly - the fat little things that they are!
*Disturbed sleep - I think this is mostly puppy disturbances though. He moves, I wake. LOL.
*Neuropathy - not anything like it used to be, but still there. (pain, tingling, numbness)
*Sores not healing quite as well/quickly as they should be. Eh, what's a little immune dysfunction between friends???
*Brain fog - again, not nearly as bad as it was, but I still must use Kudzu root, and some days are better spent watching movies all day!
*Eye pain/blood vessels breaking in eyes (thank you, Bart! But it IS a little early for Halloween!)
*Migraines/bad headaches - I STILL get these - just not as often. Started today with one, and somewhere, one of the many things I took finally worked!!!
*Memory - still badly affected, and short term memory still not good either - don't know if this will ever resolve completely, but I'm learning how to work around it.
*Back pain. Boy, this one really can get to me. It's basically tight muscles/connective tissues, but they in turn will end up pulling the spinal discs out of place, pinching a nerve, or just being very painful. But, I also have 2 weak points in my back that are giving me continual issues now. It's hard getting old with these infections!!
Basically, my pain levels are still pretty high, and must be controlled if I have any hopes of my GI functioning (what a lovely gift, right? Have too much pain? Awesome, we'll shut down your GI to boot!) - but fortunately, I've been able to learn how to control my pain fairly well with herbs.
I'm sure I'm forgetting things, but they are definitely more minor issues for me, which is why I CAN forget about them.
GI - okay, I said a little more on this. What I believe is going on and I need to do is that I have a massive buildup of biofilms. Who wouldn't have nearly 5 decades of harboring bacteria that are bent on doing just this? I did a trial of grapefruit seed extract (per Buhner's suggestions), and it threw me for a double loop-de-loop!! It was only one dose, and it was 1/4 of the recommended dose too!!! So, I figure I'm in for it when I do this, which is why I intend on waiting until I'm more willing to be inside to deal with the "aftermath" of biofilm cleansing. So, late this Fall and into Winter, that's what I'll be doing!!
Just thought a little update would be nice!
