So, I'm one of those people that hate exercising. Working outside until I'm ready to drop? No problem (LOL!), but put the word exercise to it, and I have an immediate aversion. This year, I'm trying to change that. Previously, I also dealt with a ton of exercise intolerance, as any time I started to sweat, I would immediately get super nauseous, over heated and then it took days for me to recover. Not a good way to encourage me to exercise! So, I've started with walking on a treadmill - because the weather is too nasty or cold to be trying to walk outside...and I live on a dirt road. LOL. I don't want to jump into the bushes/trees because the people going too fast on my road don't see me. I'm starting out walking less than I know I can, because I don't want to make something too sore to do it again the next day, and the next day and so on. So far so good, but then again, it is only day 4. One thing I've learned about my body is that if I have pain (more than minor pain), my intestines just shut down completely, so I know I do have to be careful. Also, I have to be careful to not over do it with my adrenals either - and that's the hard one to evaluate. Anyone else??

I used to walk outside when the weather was good and use the treadmill on bad weather days. It was great because I have a TV or could use my iPad to watch shows to pass time, but my arthritis is killing me at the moment. I can’t imagine exercising on the treadmill right now! You must be feeling pretty good if you’re exercising. That’s fantastic! You give me hope that I’ll be doing that again. Right now I have one of those vibrating machines that’s supposed to help your core that I’m trying to make myself get on. I used it once a while ago... I just stood on it for 10 minutes, and I was SO SORE for the next few days! That just shows how out of shape I am. I was supposed to start with two minutes. Now I know why! I really need to try it again. You can supposedly even just sit on it to help with your core muscles since you automatically tighten them because of the vibration and trying to balance. It’s supposed to be good for the elderly and chronically ill. Since my knees are hurting, I need to just try the sitting I guess. I keep forgetting! Right now it’s just a thing the dogs like to stand on. Lol!

You know, if this the vibrating machine what I'm imagining, it would have set me backwards instead of helping me to move forward with my healing. Vibrations like that can make an overly sensitive nervous system really go into overload. So do be careful and watch for signs from your body about whether this is helping or making things worse right now. Now, a caveat. LOL. My nervous system was in horrid shape for a long time. If I got startled, it caused massive pain to spread throughout my body very quickly - like a massive, painful electrical shock wave going through. People thought it was funny to startle me too, because I would literally jump very noticeably. I understood the 'funny' but had to make them understand that it came at a cost for me. So, maybe that vibrating machine would work for some - just be careful is all.

I heard that was common with Lyme. (My kids and I jump out at each other all of the time when I’m awake, so I think I’m conditioned. My big brother started doing it when I was little, so I don’t usually startle easily!) The vibration thing didn’t seem to bother me at all, but I used it for a very short time. Mostly I just sat on it and made vibrating ghost noises for the dogs and my children. 😂 It was a lot of fun and gave me some laugh therapy. Who knew I’d have some much fun with it? Lol!

We gotta find the 'funny' in everything we can!!! I'm glad it at least gave you some laugh therapy!! My kids used to use nearly all of my 'issues' as laugh therapy!! LOL! I didn't mind it at all, it actually made living like this a little easier, and I was laughing at my 'issues' at times anyway!! My brother and I used to see who could scare each other the most - but once I hit my 20's, that was all done. My nervous system was too shot to handle being startled like that any more. Well, I have no doubt that the avena sativa and lion's mane has made a huge difference in my nervous system healing. It has taken a lot of years though, as I started using these herbs quite some time ago. But, the good news is that I can see the improvements. I went from having no feelings on my skin, which made it all too easy to cut or burn myself (or stitch my fingers to my quilting!!! )- to now where I can tell when my (now) growing fingernails are too long for me to type well - just by the way it feels on the key board!! I have been able to feel different textures again for a couple of years now (although I still can't resist touching things just so I can feel them - I'm like a little kid!!), but things are continuing to improve for me. So, I encourage all of you that may be experiencing nervous system issues to not give up, even if your doctor says your done! We can still sometimes improve our health/function further!

Oh, I'm so glad your kids were able to laugh with you! Right now my youngest is all testosterony (yes, I made up that word) and doesn’t find anything funny now that he’s in his mid teens. I can’t wait for this stage to be over! He didn’t seem amused by my ghost noises, though I sure though it was funny! Doc yesterday day told me the vibration thing is great exercise but to do 4 minutes with 40 seconds on, 20 seconds off. We’ll see how that works since I move like a 90 year old lady and I’m supposed to jump off and on a vibrating platform. My doctor clearly has less pain than I do and is in much better shape! I’m going to end up with a concussion. He’s been taking the peptides and feels great, though I swear he must have a placebo gene because he seems to think everything works for him at the beginning! I have to admit I’m very lucky though... he is treating himself for Lyme and TBDs as well, and he always tries the treatments first before he recommends them to patients. Trav, I had no idea you had such issues with not being able to feel things. Stitching your fingers to your quilting? You must have been horrified when that happened! I mean, I get it if it’s just a tiny layer of outer skin because I’ve done that, but actually stitching it to your fingers, OUCH! I have the exact opposite problem. I’m like the princess and the pea. I have to use certain kinds of sheets (which are irritatingly expensive) because I can’t sleep with anything at all rough against my skin. My favorite ones are the old thin, 100% cotton ones that have been washed 1,000 times from parents’ house, but they’re so thin that they rip too easily now. It’s very difficult to find sheets that feel like that. I even take my own sheets and pillowcases with me when I travel just so I can sleep. The very best are 100 % silk, but they are too expensive because they just don’t last long enough. (I tried. They ripped very quickly. Oh, how I wish I could afford 100% silk sheets! And that’s not because I’m fancy, it’s just because my skin is so dang sensitive!) I have to admit that bedding is an obsession with me, and it all began back in Virginia 14 years ago when I had just gotten infected. I’ve never put that together until now.

Well, it's possible that, with treatments to heal your nervous system, that you won't have quite that much of an issue with sheets. I know that when I started detoxing at first, I couldn't dry skin brush at all because of the pain that it left me in - but I also wasn't able to shower, because the water hitting my skin was beyond painful! I ended up in tears every time I had to shower (we don't have a tub!!). I've had a lot of things 'go wrong' with my body over the years - that's what having these infections go untreated (or under-treated) will do for a person. Eventually, it all catches up to you, and you pay dearly. That's why I don't believe that there is any sense in risking under treatment. If the symptoms are still ongoing - there's good reason for it!! The infection is still ongoing. That's a universally accepted thought in medical circles for every other infection - but not Lyme. LOL - yeah, it was a little startling when I would sew my fingers to my projects, but since I didn't feel it, I didn't know I had done it, and what usually brought it to my attention was the sight of some blood - so I went looking for where it could have come from - and I didn't have to set down my work! LOL! It was firmly attached to my finger(s)!! Okay, I know I'm weird, but it was FUNNY!!! Well, at least your doctor is in better shape than you!! It 'bothers' me when a doctor tells me to get in better shape when I see them outside smoking and being overweight. I can't help but think, "If you believe that's so necessary, then why aren't you doing it too?". I mean, I had an excuse - I was sick as a dog. Well, I'll be interested to know if the vibration thing helps you!!! Yeah, I'm dangerous on a trampoline!!! LOL! I got a mini trampoline back in the beginning (found a good quality used one!!!) and it didn't take me long to realize that I was in more danger on it than off. LOL. I do think it may have still helped me the short time I used it though.
