The effect of artesunate on short-term memory in Lyme borreliosis Abstract Lyme borreliosis is associated with memory deficits. While this may be related to cerebral infection by Borrelia bacteria, it may also be caused by concomitant co-infection by Babesia protozoa. The anti-malarial artemisinin-derivative artesunate has been shown to be effective against a number of Babesia species and to have efficacy against human cerebral malaria. We hypothesised that concomitant administration of artesunate in Lyme borreliosis patients would help alleviate the severity of self-reported short-term memory impairment. This hypothesis was tested in a small pilot study in which patients were treated with both an intravenous antibiotic and oral artesunate (20 mg four times per day); treatment was associated with a reduction in the severity of short-term memory difficulties (P ≃ 0.08). In light of these findings, we recommend that a formal randomised, placebo-controlled study be carried out. The effect of artesunate on short-term memory in Lyme borreliosis

I'm a gonna go take some Artesunate. ( I have some leftover that was compounded..supposed to be stronger then Artemisinin)

A person can pay to see the full article on that site. I'll do an online search tomorrow to see if I can find an online site that doesn't charge to see the whole article.

They are making sure we can't copy that article. O well, something else they r being sneaky about and don't want us to know! O gosh I am a great example of losing my mind since Lyme Disease! I notice a big difference in my short term since I ended up with this lllll I forget where I put things all the time. Poor Guy! But he is good about it. He helps look for what ever, if he finds it, he'll say Debbie come here, and we just giggle about it. He'll shake his head some, he has to do something?? giggle I lost a lot of my work education also. I see a big differences in myself since Lyme! I am even losing my eye sight over LD! Thank God I have a good eye doctor that knows about LD. He has 3 other pts with lymie eyes. That's just a few things Lyme has done to me. We all know the basic list of things. (muscles, joints, etc.)

Yes, they have figured out that if they don't hand us the information, but post it online, we will still find it!! Lyme disease patients are known to be highly educated about their health issues and it does scare many doctors, since they don't know half of what we usually do!!!
Don't forget that Bartonella can also have a big impact on our vision!
And same here on the memory - I can tell that my brain is not what it used to be, but no one else seems to be able to tell, other than my Mom and my kids fortunately. It's taken a lot of work, and I never knew if it would help or not to get back to where I am now. Fighting to keep all the brain function I have now though!!!
