First, this is a very nice site. It was easy to register and get involved. I posted this on healing, but don't remember if I have this correct. It seems, years, ago, you posted about your worry about low sodium and chloride. May be wrong on chloride. My latest tests have been trending to high on potassium and low on sodium and chloride. Very worried. My mind got the best on this. How did yours turn out and why was your blood count on sodium and (chloride?) low. I've been working to dig out of a hole and now this test. Or has anyone else experienced this. Concerned about adrenals and mind carries me away to Addision's, which I don't think is in play. But that doesn't stop me from thinking . Thanks. And I will be back to answer others.

I'm sorry but I don't have an answer for you.
I'm sorry to hear about your latest test results. What did your doctor say about your test results?

Hi Runner, Thank you so much for your kind words. Things will continue to improve as I better learn about running a forum. I'm no where near my records, and although I remember the doctor being concerned, there's no way I can remember my sodium numbers, but they were pretty low. I don't remember if my chloride was low or not either. What my doc did say at the time was that I needed to increase my salt intake because my blood sodium was too low though and that he had only told two other patients that in his 20 year career at the time. Lol. Can you get a 4 point saliva test for your adrenals through you doc/insurance? If not, there are some labs that you can order your own. Let us know if you need help locating them online. I'll be "out" most of the day, as hubby goes into surgery soon, but will check back in as soon as I can. As far as how things have turned out, that was the beginning of what has been about a 5 year journey (so far) of my adrenals crashing, then of my trying to get it recognized, and healing some. Still working on the healing part. Lol. I no longer have strong salt cravings (as of about 3 months ago) and can even withstand a bit of stress now, as long as I'm careful to adjust my meds and rest at every opportunity. So I am healing. I would encourage you to follow up on this and don't leave it solely in the doctors hands - that's why I sunk clear down into Addison's, instead of only having adrenal fatigue.

First and foremost, hope the surgery went well for your husband and all is going well there. You are fortunate people to have each other. That is why we are here. That is what marriage is all about. Doesn't work that way with a lot of people.
And do not answer this until your personal time allows or if it does at all.
Not sure, still, what is gong on with the adrenals. Have not gotten test results back yet. Something is going on since there is the low salt/low chloride/high potassium. That and constipation. Have noticed since stopping herbs stomach has gotten a bit better. Out of worry I would be backed up too much and cause more problems, took Mirilax last night and had some results this morning.
Did not want to go that route, but could not keep on as was going. Also my blood tests for amalyse was normal and lipase was also normal, though 52, with 59 being the high.
You mentioned "sunk clear down into Addison's." meaning it got so much worse? I thought Addison's meant there was no way of treating unless prednisone was used, which is what caused my panic. Glad you are slowly getting things back. I'm confused by it all and will wait until, hopefully, Monday, to get adrenals and cortisol tests back.
Enjoy the weekend and may your husband be on the good way to recovery quickly.

Yes! Surgery did go very well - we are back home now! Thank you for asking - and yes, we both feel very blessed to have found each other. Any time I'm stressed, tired, or in pain, I have intestinal issues - mainly constipation. I use magnesium oxide and high dose vitamin C to help keep things moving - adjusting as my body needs change around. I too have to adjust nearly everything though, depending on just how badly my intestines are misbehaving, or if they have completely shut down again. It takes more finesse than one would think! LOL! Yes, I did get much worse, but it was all before I started treating them with my 1st 'adrenal doc'. I've been slowly improving since that time (about 3 years ago). I started out using desiccated adrenal supplements at first, then switched over to herbs and homeopathic meds a little over 2 years ago. I refused the prednisone and the IV abx that I was offered when I was reinfected. Please do let us know what your test results show! I"m hoping that after a day of rest tomorrow, I'll be back to my 'old self'!

Thanks for taking the time. Sorry you still deal with the gut issues. I've never had them like this and nevr had sodium/chloride levels low or potassium high.
Will let you know how tets go. Thanks.
