Well, I’ve been pretty out of touch since Christmas Day. I hope all of you got to enjoy New Year’s Eve since I sure didn’t. I’m hoping to get to an ozone treatment tomorrow, but it’s 5:07 am, and I’m not sleeping again, so we’ll see.
I just saw this video and thought I’d post it to let you all know you’re not alone! It’s a TedX one about the stigma of Lyme and how it would sometimes just be so much easier to tell people we have cancer. It’s exactly how I’ve been feeling for so long, and after a week of being stuck in my house and having dreams about being stuck in a wheelchair, it was kind of nice to hear someone else put my feelings into words.
I hope everyone’s doing ok!

I'm so sorry, Alyeska!!! But, you came back here with one heck of a video!! WOW. This is getting posted all over the web by me in just a few minutes.
The 'extra' that I got from that video was that I too feel the way her Dad did (in the movie as she describes it). I DID get my second chance and I'm using it to shout about everything!!! The video left me with goosebumps and tears in my eyes - so thank you for posting it!!

Hey Alyeska , sorry you’ve been feeling so bad. I didn’t get to check out the video yet, I will though. I definitly understand not not being around so much when you’re extra sick... I finally felt capable of getting online & realized my antenna for my internet isn’t working... Its likely been nonfunctional for some time, but I didn’t notice because I was too. Hahaha... I had to go next door just to check in today....luckily I felt up to it. Anyway, hope you get through this rough patch quickly! Thinking of you !

My husband, kids, and I are HUGE TedX fans. My husband even took a business trip to go to the huge one in Canada, and my kids put on TedX gatherings for their high school. Is it just me, or does word seem to be getting out more about Lyme lately? I thought I just hadn't been paying attention, but it seems to be getting a little more press these days. I think I even mentioned before that it was mentioned on a comedy, "American Mom," a couple of months ago when the mom was trying to get out of doing something and was going to use Lyme as an excuse.

Tears here, too. Hope you feel better, soon, Alyeska. Thanks, Girlie! I'm glad you liked the video. We all need an advocate like that woman, but we need him/her BEFORE we die.

I'm not good with retaining information from verbal/video sources still, so I don't watch many videos. Instead I usually look for something that has been printed out. But, I did really like that one. Yes, the word is getting out more, but so is more misinformation about these diseases - or like you posted about, an actor/actress using Lyme to try to get out of doing something, when they don't really have it. It leaves those with Lyme as the butt of the joke for the most part - although I may be a bit touchy about it after all these years of fighting for recognition. LOL. CasaI do hope you get to a better place soon!!! Do let us know if we can be of help when you can!
