I do want everyone to be aware of what's going on, and so I'm posting it here as well so that you all can read it yourselves: Huffington Post - 1st meeting of Tick-borne disease working group For example, here is one tidbit I did not know about: "The Working Group’s designated federal officer, Richard Wolitski, “has worked for three decades as a manager, supervisor, and researcher studying HIV, STD and viral hepatitis risks and prevention.” Included with his biography among meeting handouts is a quote from Wolitski: “As someone living with HIV who experienced the early days of the epidemic before effective treatment existed, I empathize with many of these issues and ways that tick-borne disease has affected people and their families.” This will work in our favor, as Lyme has a way to dismantle our immune system so that it never functions properly again - and for some, it's means it's actually a type of AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome). Some only have some immune deficiency, and some have a lot of immune deficiency, just like with the other symptoms of Lyme. Not everyone gets every symptom (I don't want to scare the more sensitive members here, but I won't hide the truth of what we have).

Half the time I don't even make it to the advocacy section.
