Curious if anyone here has used Losartan to lower TGF-Beta levels? Shoemaker recommends that as treatment for those exposed to mycotoxins who have high TGF-Beta levels, but according to Dr N, Bart can also cause elevated TGF-Beta numbers. Anyhow, if you have used this I'd love to hear your feedback about it as I'm going to mention it to my LLND as my TGF-Beta level is crazy high.

You and I have talked a little bit about this already, and you know my thoughts, so I'm hoping others will chime in too.

I am so sorry, I have not used Losartan. I had to look up the med, because I personally haven't heard of it. It mentions that this med can be taken to lower blood pressure.
Very interesting that according to Dr Nathan, Bart can also cause elevated TGF-BETA numbers. How is anyone suppose to know if the elevated TGF is due to mycotoxins, Bart, or both?
I am sorry to hear that your TGF-Beta number is extremely high. Do you have any idea of what might have happened?
I wish that I could be more helpful.
Please keep us updated as to what your LLND has to say about this.

Hey LB! Thanks for the reply! Well, the key to differentiate regarding the source of the high TGF-Beta is to get a mycotoxin test and have a reliable Bart test. I actually just had a consultation with my doc today who recommended a new mycotoxin test from Great Plains Labs, which apparently is about $400 cheaper than the Real Time Lab test, which was the one recommended before. www.greatplainslaboratory.com/gplmycotoxI asked my doc about Losartan today and he said it could be an option depending upon the test results. So I'll keep you posted!

Hi Mister Mike!-
Thank you so much for answering my question!
I read the web site about the mycotoxin test you posted. Very informative! I'll be rereading this a couple more times. LOL!
This is like another foreign language. I am still working on learning the whole mold lingo and now mycotoxin. YIKES!! If I only had a brain.
I didn't test positive for Bartonella. I only tested positive for Lyme. My LLMD clinically diagnosed me with Bart and Babs due to some of my symptoms. I wonder; if my TGF-Beta number doesn't drop, my doctor might want me to have a mycotoxin test done also. To see if my high TGF is due to Bart or mycotoxin.
Since you mentioned the Great Plains Labs is $400 cheaper then the Real Time Lab, this kind of makes me think that this is a very expensive test.
Thank you so much for keeping me updated with your journey and sharing valuable information!
Thank You!

Hey LB!
Yeah the Real Time Lab test is $700, so I assume this one is around $300 based on my doc saying it was $400 cheaper. Still not cheap, but a heck of a lot better in my book!
Don't let the terminology throw ya. Essentially just think of mycotoxins as mold produced substances that can hurt you.
Seems like we're on a similar path here so I'll keep you in the loop as I learn more.
