Here's a video by a guy whose wife has a chronic illness. I can't honestly remember if I've shared this here yet, but it almost makes me cry every time I watch it because it's so accurate for me. I hope it makes one of you feel better if you're going through this like I am.
However, don't expect anyone who doesn't understand chronic illness to relate to this. I sent this to my brothers and sisters (I have a lot of them) and not one person responded. I don't know if they didn't watch, don't know what to say, or just think I'm whining and trying to get sympathy.
i just ran across it again and thought it might make one of you feel less alone.

Oh boy!! Do I ever like that description!!!! I tried to explain to my TCM doc how I was feeling - the only thing I could come up with is that each morning that I woke up, I was just a little more exhausted than I was the day before - and that went on for years. That was when my adrenals were just struggling hard - when they crashed, I had fears and nightmares that one day I just wouldn't wake up.
And, may I just say how much I hate when someone that does not deal with these things tries to empathize with you - just like that guy in the video said - but the most they have ever missed was a night or two of sleep and say stupid stuff!!!!! Like "oh, I know, I'm so tired! I can't wait for the weekend" - it would be soooooooooo nice to know that by the weekend I could resolve the fatigue!! And NO!!! That's not the same!!!! Ha ha ha! Fortunately, I can hold my tongue from time to time!!!
Thanks for posting this, Alyeska!!!

Hi alyeska!-
Thank you for sharing that video with us. I am currently dealing with a lot of fatigue. The type where just doing 1 load of laundry will exhaust me. It's not like I have to do much. Put the clothes in the wash machine, add detergent, and press start. It's not like I have to go down by the river and beat the clothes against the rocks to clean them.
Last week, I wanted to wash towels. On the 4th day it finally got done!

As I was watching the video I thought about my friends at my firehouse....I love them, but they would never understand chronic fatigue.... People never understand illness unless they experience it for themselves.... I have 1 very good friend who experienced c diff as well, so we have a special understanding. We can talk about it in length and even the tmi portions of the discussion are not disgusting to us (it is like therapy) because we both lived through the ordeal and mine was much more severe than his, but he understands and can relate....
Thank you for the video ! Scott

I'm having the same problem with laundry! Just moving the heavy, wet clothes from the washer to dryer screws up my elbows so much that I can hardly use them for the next few days, especially towels and sheets. My youngest son gets mad if I don't do his laundry, but he won't help me carry it up or down the stairs. I guess he will if I wait long enough!

Hi, So sorry you are suffering...MY Mom has very bad arthritis (not from lyme though) and she swears by Glucosamine with chondroitin and msm....I have no idea if it would help lyme arthritis, but I thought I would mention what helps her.... Scott

I do have arthritis on top of these infections - don't know if it's because of these infections or not though, as I also have psoriasis and it could be from that - or just 'regular' arthritis. Anyway, I've found that a joint supplement with hyaluronic acid has been a BIG help.
But, if it's the nerves in the joints that are going nuts, then that won't help. For that, you may find relief with an anti-inflammatory.
It could also be that the nerves are demyelinated - that's when the protective covering (myelin sheath) is damaged. Lyme IS a demyelinating disease, so for those with chronic infections and nerve pain, it's likely what's going on. Lion's mane has been of great value to me in helping my nerves heal. Nerves heal very, very slowly, so it takes a long while for anything to help them much, except anti-inflammatories - fortunately, those are fairly fast acting!
Now, here's the odd thing, until you really stop to think about it - if your elbows are hurting, it could be your neck! When we get tight muscles in our back, it can pull the disc out to one side or another, possibly pinching part of, or the whole nerve - and be-leive me!!!! That hurts!!!! I deal with this a ton!! Right now, I have a muscle that is super tight that runs under my shoulder blade, well this is throwing my posture out of whack, so my neck and upper back are also tight and sore - and that's pinching a nerve that runs down the back of my upper arm, through the elbow and down my lower arm, usually down through my middle finger! It just burns too, which is very distracting and very maddening! LOL! Sometimes I have to use heat/massage/herbs to get the muscles to relax, then ice to ease the inflammation before much relief comes.....or to sleep at night!

Wow Traveler-you & I really do get a lot of the same weird body stuff... I get that exact same under the shoulder blade deal... it's terrible! I've been getting it for years, it's actually the best now that it's been in the past 11-12 years, maybe longer. ( maybe I shouldn't say anything, don't want to jinx myself...)
It's still noticeable, just like you said- I feel it all the way down my arm & into my hand. But strangely, over the past year it's eased up a lot. ( except for occasional flare ups) Possibly because my activity level is way down... or maybe it's just the symptom changing Lyme thing.... hmmm.
Eaither way, I'm grateful that it's eased up some , because it really throws EVERYTHING out of whack- I wind up getting migraines and jaw pain with it too. It's a doozy. Hope yours eases up soon!

Scott Interesting... Dad used to take glucosamine and swore by it too. I forgot all about it, probably because my arthritis wasn't that bad. I'll have to write this down and ask my doc. I'm going to be cleaning like a fool on Wednesday because DH told everyone we're having Thanksgiving at our house. Thankfully my sibs don't mind a mess if I don't finish it, and DH is cooking! There's no possible way I'd be able to lift a turkey anymore. I joke with my kids that I can't do anything with my T-Rex arms. Lol! Thanks for all of your help and prayers, Scott.

I soooo agree!! It can really mess up a day! LOL! But, mine is calming yet again - YAY!!! I"m like you, it comes and goes, but during times my body is stressed, it just loves to rear it's ugly little head!
