Ok, here I go:
1) Listlessness and feeling completely down and useless... can’t tell if it’s herx or side effect of something 2) exhaustion despite the fact that I don’t do anything all day 3) disrespectful teenage sons who are incredibly selfish and won’t do their chores, including exercising their puppy 4) A messy house that no one seems to mind but me 5) the fact that I love to read but can’t concentrate enough to read despite all of the supplements I’m taking to help me to be able to concentrate 6) the supplements that have taken over my coffee table and kitchen counter 7) trying to be patient while I see if any of these supplements work 8) trying to choke down two celery stalks and a bunch of chia every day (per doctor’s orders) even though I have no appetite 9) trying to choke down tons of supplements and nasty teas every day that make me feel nauseous 10) spending tons of money out of pocket for supplements that don’t seem to be working
Obviously I’m having a particularly hard day. One good thing... my joints feel so much better! I’m not sure if it’s because I’m barely moving or if the peptides which are $10 a lozenge/day are actually helping.
Please join in and vent with me if you think it will help. That‘s one of the VERY nice things about this forum. Even though I might not have anyone to listen to me at home, I know you guys get it! It means the world to me that you’re out there. I feel so much less alone.

Oh boy - I don't even want to get started!! LOL!
My biggest issues have been learning to cope with the thoughts that I may not be able to do anything about being one of those people that will just require treatments every so often in order to stay functional. The good part? It does seem that my 'go-to' herb will work (Oil of oregano), so at least it's convenient and easy enough to take.
I'm NOT giving up to this idea just yet. I still have some things that I want to try and I want to track down still - but that thought is now ever lurking in the back of my head now - along with the pain that's back there!!!
And, hey, if you are the only one that minds the house being messy - YOU ARE OFF THE HOOK!!! LOL! Don't look!! (ha ha ha! I know it's not that easy!)
Now, the choking down the pills, I can fully sympathize with you. I'm back to choking on mine again. Ugh. This gets soo tiring!!!
What about putting your celery through the blender or food processor? Then you could add things to it to help with flavor and maybe make it easier to consume?
I do have to ask though - just what is the celery supposed to be helping with? Looking it up, I can see that it has a lot of nutrients, but I'm assuming there's more to it than that?

Another of his patients is feeling amazing with it. You know how he’ll let me try anything new he’s discovering. I tried putting it in my food processor and drinking it. I just haven’t been able to get it smoothed out enough, and when I put it in with bone broth is gets foamy... ick! I’m being such a baby, I know! Lol! I just hate the smell of it so much for some reason. I’m going to try to choke some down with almond butter later. Also, you are not allowed to give up.

I've actually heard about using celery for detoxing, but haven't looked it up to read how it's supposed to work. When I was doing daily smoothies (way back when in early treatments), I used celery more for fiber though. Do you use something like celery powder? I'm wondering because you said it foams up? Oh, I'm not giving up on everything, only the fact that I may be able to escape from having to do treatments every so often to keep functional. For a while, it felt like accepting defeat, but I have come to realize it's actually opposite of that - I have learned HOW TO KEEP FUNCTIONAL!! YAY!

It’s all of your herbal knowledge, studying, hard work, and practice that’s helping you stay functional. That’s fantastic!!! You give me hope! I don’t have a clue why my “celery smoothie” foamed up. It was just bone broth and two celery sticks. It was so disgusting. I know it’s the strong smell of fresh celery that gets me. It’s less strong smelling when you don’t shred it up. What’s funny is I love the smell of it cooking in vegetable soup! Tonight I ate two sticks with almond butter and chia mixed together. ( Oh, I think I mentioned it. My LLMD wants me eating chia every day too.) Chia’s not so bad except for the fact that it gels up between my teeth after I eat it. That’s kind of freaky! I know I can eat that after it soaks in something too, but this was an easy way to get it all down. Thankfully I’m allowed to eat almond butter! It’s saving me and helping me manage to get the celery down. Why can’t my doctor prescribe ice cream or wine for once? I know, I know.

Why can’t my doctor prescribe ice cream or wine for once? I know, I know. Right? Every Lyme patients dream!!! Ha ha ha! When I was going through the elimination diet that my doc put me on, I got started eating almond butter - and now peanut butter is not as tasty as it used to be for me! LOL! I enjoyed the almond butter, and even made almond flour biscuits (very high protein goodness!). It’s all of your herbal knowledge, studying, hard work, and practice that’s helping you stay functional. I do have to admit that my brain does function a lot better since I started school - but boy am I ever glad I chose to start off with the Introductory course, even though I have played with herbs for many years now!! Talk about a challenge!! And the Advance course scares me silly. The Intro and Intermediate courses all allow 1 year to complete - the Advance course allows 3 years, and requires a thesis!! Okay - I'm scared of that!!! LOL! But, it all started out with eating the way that's best for me, making sure I got the nutrients I needed (even if it meant using supplements and digestive aids), and then I started walking, which turned into being able to detox better, which made it possible for me to be outside in the heat to work and sweat more (even more detoxing!) and then I continued to walk during the winter, inside on a treadmill that we have. Every little bit of help we can give our bodies helps us to reach our goals - even if we do have to say 'eventually' because of these infections!
