So, my husband has a Dermatologist that he sees regularly for skin cancer checks. They just moved to a new office, and now offer massages with many different options!! There is even one where they will do a full hour massage with CBD oil!! One where they will do 'cupping' (for those that know what that is), and then they also have a sauna, whirlpool and shower facilities that are included when you pay for the massage!! Hubby had the CBD oil massage today because he hasn't been sleeping more than 4 hours a night for the last several weeks now because of his pain. I bet he sleeps good tonight!!! So, do yourself a favor and take a second (or first, lol) look at your local Dermatologist offices! Find out what services they might have besides just checking to be sure your skin is healthy!

He slept an extra 3 hours last night!! When I went to bed, he hadn't even moved from the position he was in when he feel asleep 2 hours previous!!! LOL! It was a bit expensive to be able to do every month, but if he can hang in there, I think we can provide this for him at least every 2 - 3 months!! YAY!

Oh, how wonderful! Is it continuing to help him sleep? Hopefully he can get some longer term benefits from it rather than just one night.

Well, his issues are severe, so I would assume that those with less severe issues would find it helpful for more than one day - but that's all it lasted for him. Like he said though, "I'll take the one day!!!" to escape from the pain and get some good sleep at least one night. That's why we are planning for him to get these every few months (wish I could afford for him to get them every week!!!).

I hate the feeling of being so desperate for sweet, painless sleep. I guess that’s why someone came up with the word “painsomnia.” I had a friend with fibromyalgia years ago who used to have insurance that paid for a weekly massage. She was a teacher, so I can’t imagine how that happened! It helped her so much. One of her ultra-Christian friends tried to shame her out of getting them and said it was sinful. I couldn’t believe it! Luckily I convinced her that was ridiculous and that her friend was an idiot. She had a job to do and three kids at home and needed that pain relief and sleep! I moved away and haven’t seen her in years. I hope she’s ok.

It's not like you pay with something inappropriate or you are there to do something illegal! So sorry, Alyeska - but that one just made me LOL!!! How ridiculous!

I know, I know! Can you imagine? The poor lady was in so much constant pain and had to teach sixth graders, and then she had to go home to three kids and a jerky husband. (I did not like that guy!)

I went through several years where I woke up a bit more tired than I was when I went to bed the night before. I kept trying different things to help me sleep better, and to control different aspects of my health to help me sleep better, but it didn't help - until I started effective treatments for my tick-borne infections. That was actually a very scary situation to be in!
But, the one that has to take the cake, is while my adrenals were failing. That was a scary exhaustion! I really did wonder just how much more my body could take, and it's been put through the mill many times, so I knew that my body could take quite a bit, but there has to be a limit!
Unfortunately, hubby's issues are very different than mine. His is all due to pain and not being able to get comfortable with his back and neck issues, plus his legs are in constant pain due to the damage from severe blood clot issues (DVT) that disabled him. So, he's got a lot of damage that can't really be 'healed', but we are working to find all the right combinations of things he can do (he's on warfarin for life, so that limits him severely).

Oh, man! I tell you, I never knew how pain could keep you from sleeping until I experienced ityself. I think I just assumed that pain would make you tired and that your body would rest and heal itself. How wrong I was! That’s the worst. Luckily I don’t have it every night like he does. God bless him!

Thank you, Alyeska. Yep, its really hard for me to complain about my own pain because I watch him live with his.
Good news though! He's trying melatonin and it does seem to be helping. The issue for him is, just how long it might continue to work? Most this gs that he's tried to help him sleep have only worked for a few days or weeks.
