What are you doing to detox your liver and kidneys? I want to make sure I am doing enough to support my organs.

I think I go further than most do for this - but I've seen that I've needed it too.
I use dandelion root tincture; my 'fake coffee' has roasted barley in it, which helps detox the kidneys; I use Yogi brand original flavor detox tea as it helps to detox the liver and kidneys.
And if I really seem to need an extra boost to my liver detox, I use this:
Traditional Chinese Medicine liver detox In the morning, 1/2 hour before any food, mix: 1 cup fresh squeezed citrus juice - can be orange or grapefruit . A couple of good squeezes of lemon or lime juice. 1 - 2 cloves of fresh squeezed garlic 1 tablespoon of olive oil. A few drops of fresh squeezed ginger juice Do 2 cycles of 7 - 10 days each, with a 3 day break in between the 2 cycles - OR until you see plenty of bile (dark green color) in your stools.
I do watch the color of my stools to be able to keep ahead of my detoxing needs.

Hi summer16!-
I have tried Liposomal Glutathione. If I remember correctly, my LLMD said that this would help with detoxing my liver. I don't know if it was also helping with my kidneys or not.
I am also on Byron White Herbal Supplements. A-Inflam and Detox1.
Best Wishes!

Thank you for sharing about you experience with castor oil packs.
I am happy to hear that castor oil packs help you! I have read of other people using them. I was always curious to try them because of their effectiveness.
Can you reuse the same pack a couple of times, or do you always use a new pack?
Best Wishes!

I take Pekana Apo-Hepat for my liver.
I used to take Milk Thistle extract - but after my liver enzymes climbed with lyme antibiotics...my LLND told me to take the Pekano instead.
I haven't had an issue since...but I also started treating bart around the same time I switched.
Maybe bart was causing the raised liver enzymes....and once I started treatment, it resolved.

Hi Little Bear, Sorry, I haven't been back on the forum until just now. I use the same pack over and over, for a month or so. After each use, I put it in a ziplock bag and refrigerate it. When the cloth starts to get a little dry, I just add some more castor oil. Lately I've been adding a few drops of essential oils along with the castor oil. Hopewell Essential Oils has a blend that I like that is for liver and GB. This may be a little TMI, but my ND recently had me take berberine to help with my Lyme. It evidently killed liver flukes, too. The castor oil packs really helped my liver get rid of the nasty critters once the berberine did its work! I hope the castor oil packs work for you! I love how gentle and effective they are, and they are so inexpensive compared to a lot of detox supplements I've tried.

Hi nosila!-
Thank You so much for your response on how you use the castor oil packs!
Thanks for sharing the tip on using EO's for your liver and GB.
LOL! In the world of Lyme, there is no such thing as TMI
Very interesting about the berberine. Did you know that you had liver flukes before you took berberine?
July 2016, I took Byron White A-P. This is a herbal supplement for: flukes, tapeworm, amoeba, nematodes, candida, and mold. I am pretty sure that I had a die off of something, I just don't know what.
Thank You!

Hi LB! Oh yeah, I was pretty sure I still had lived flukes. I had done several parasite cleanses, and while I made progress each time, I never eradicated them. I was pretty badly infested when I started! Looking back, I think that parasites may have been a bigger problem for me than Lyme for a long time.
For the past several months, I've been working with a ND to prioritize the issues I'm fighting. I know I still have Lyme and parasites, but right now they are on the backburner because they aren't causing as much trouble for me as Candida and some environmental toxins. This approach is really refreshing to me because before, I felt almost obsessive about killing all of the Lyme and all of the parasites. Now I'm more concerned with keeping everything in balance, and I don't feel like such a slave to the infections.

Thank you for your response!
I did 2 rounds of Dr. Klinghardt parasite protocol. The first round I had 2 days of improvement when I was taking Albendazole. When I did the second round, I didn't notice any improvements when taking Albendazole.
I was really hoping for a some sort of progress, but it seems like symptoms never go away completely for me. The only symptom that didn't happen during my parasite cleanse is my stuttering.
I am always so amazed when people like you can figure out which symptoms are due to: Lyme, co infections, parasites, Candida, environmental toxins, mold, etc...
It sound like you have a good ND that is helping you sort through all of this mess. I hope that you continue to make progress and are able to get your system back in balance.
Thank you for sharing!
Best Wishes!

Right, Nosila, it's about balance in the body. While we can tackle one thing at a time, it leaves other parts of us out of balance. Quite often it helps to pull away and look at the big picture of dysfunction in the body rather than the specific infections/issues we may be dealing with.
