OK. So I feel like I'm not getting anywhere with my current abx treatment. I seemed to be doing really well, but now 5 months into it, I feel like I am actually backsliding. I am considering switching to an herbal protocol.
First question is Cowden or Buhner? I am leaning towards Cowden just because it's pretty idiot proof. However, I think Buhner may be more effective. I have been all over Buhner's website, and frankly it's totally overwhelming to me. I ordered the book hoping it is a little clearer. But it seems like a lot of "take this, this or this, or you could take this instead, or you could take that, or you could take this and that..." I just what to scream, "Just tell me what to take!" BTW, I'm currently having the same frustration with my LLMD. It seems like when I ask about something, he'll reply with you could try that or you could try this or you could do that. I just need someone to tell me what to do. They're supposed to be the experts.
My other question is how to I make the switch? Do I just stop taking my abx cold turkey? Can I keep doing the abx while I start up the herbals? No idea how that would would.
What about supplements? Do I continue to take those with the herbal protocols?
Test was positive for 2 strains of Borrelia. Negative for everything else, although I suspect I have Babs. Here's what I'm currently taking:
Ceftin - 500mg twice a day
Doxy - 100mg twice a day
Saccharomyces boulardii - 3 capsules every other day
Megaspore Probiotics - 2 capsules every other day (alternate days with Saccharomyces boulardii)
Sunflower Lecithin (phosphatidyl choline) - 3 per day
Omega-3 - 2 a day
Multi Mineral Supplement - 3 per day
Multi Vitamin Supplement - 1 per day
Liposomal Glutathione - 5mg twice a day
Desiccated Liver - 3 tablets a day
For detox - lots of lemon water, Epsom salt baths, dry brushing
Ordered CSA Tincture to try to hit Babs. LLMD prescribed Malarone, but I am trying this first with his blessing.
Any guidance would be appreciated.
