Hi everyone!-
Just wondering what your thoughts on this might be.
I will be starting a nasal spray for mold issues soon. The nasal spray has antibiotics in it. Do you think that I should take an oral probiotic while using the nasal spray?
Any and all comments are welcome!
Thank You!

Hi, Yes, yes and yes.... I take vsl2...but it is a very strong one....I take it due to my c diff history....I have a friend of who takes Align, but I think it is best to take a probiotic with multiple strains.... Take the probiotic a few hours after the nasal abx....If you take it at the sametime it might just kill the probiotic....
There is also a yeast based probiotic called Florastor which is very good....
But everyone is different...I know folks who can tolerate vsl3 but not florastor....I could not tolerate Align..... Scott

Hi acres!-
Thank you so much for your response. Also thank you for sharing the type of probiotic that you use.
I did use probiotics when I was using oral antibiotics. And I continued to use them for several months after use of antibiotics.
Go figure, I stopped using the probiotics recently because I wanted to see how I would do without using them.
I shall start using them again
Thank You!

Hi, That was smart to continuing to take them after you completed your abx....
I made a mistake, it is vsl3 not 2....

Scott I use Align once in a while, when my psoriasis flares and I can't get it under control quickly. It's got the one strain that has been scientifically proven to help with psoriasis and I only usually need to use Align and coconut oil topically to bring the psoriasis back under control pretty quickly. VSL3 is a probiotic that many have had good success with. There are many others too, though. Personally I prefer to use kefir as it has the most strains available, but I do have to take breaks from it too.

Hi, I would love to eat kefir, but for some reason it does not agree with me.....I tried last year during my c diff adventure....Might be worth giving it another try now that my gut flora is in much better shape....
I good friend of mine had c diff and he swears by Align.....He takes it whenever he needs an antibiotic and has not relapsed....

Our gut microbes are as unique as our brain chemicals are to each of us, so even with something as "simple" as probiotics, we may need/tolerate one but not another. The key is to find what works best for you at that time. Our needs change too. There are some days I can't take any probiotics, or it messes with my gut function. Too much of anything is not good for us, especially since our health is not as stable as it used to be.

Thank you so much for letting me know about the Mold & Mycotoxins ebook! I found it on Amazon. I might be missing it, but do they not sell it in paperback/hardcover?
Can it only be downloaded? This is going to sound very sad, but I have never downloaded a book before. LOL!!

I've downloaded a book onto my tablet and onto my desktop computer (although you need to download a 'special reader' if you use a desktop, but they are usually for free). It's not hard - obviously, if I've been able to figure it out! LOL! You can try it with a free ebook first though on Amazon. It's not hard, and I believe it's relatively easy to do. I encourage you to give it a try! And, it will open up a whole new way of getting books!
