Haven't been to this forum for a while as I had written down "dogwoodtrails" instead of traditionals (I live near Atlanta so dogwoods in mind). Hope still active.
I have recently had swollen, painful knuckles and other issues that could be autoimmune related. I've had all autoimmune tests done, and all come back negative. But I did notice I had antibodies for rheumatoid arthritis, though only halfway high enough to be positive. That was through an Avise test, which is much more sensitive than other tests.
Has anyone had swollen, painful knuckles, fingers with Lyme. I also have had EBV for a long time and am very nervous about autoimmune. It seems like that is what is happening as I also get dry mouth at night, eyes itch (but not dry eye), pain in different parts of body.
I hope those on here are doing well and miss seeing Traveler posts.

Hi Runner! Well, I'm still here! LOL!
I know I'm not the only one that also experiences those things. I'm not sure which infection hit me the hardest for my joints, but they were definitely hit. My knuckles on my fingers are bending sideways, and also twist. My feet are beyond help, as I found out when I was in my early 20's that I had broken nearly every bone in my feet years before that, so if it's not these infections, then it's just 'regular' osteoarthritis that is hitting there. My knees crack and pop, as well as my hips and elbows. And, as if I could forget it, so does my spine - but I do believe most of my spine issues are due more to muscle spasms than arthritic issues - on the other hand, I haven't been evaluated for a lot of years though either. Back when I did try to get evaluated, all I was ever told was that I have no blood markers of arthritis, even though my fingers were worse back then with the twisting and large knuckles.
Oh - and I live in the Ozarks, so that's where the 'dogwood' part of this name came from! We aren't so far apart!!
I'm really sorry, but I have no idea who has access to Buhner's books and who doesn't - do you? If so, I can just give you the page number, and what I'm suggesting you read. If not though, I'll be happy to type out what is most relevant.
Lyme attacks our collagen 6 top benefits of taking collagen This is why Buhner and others encourage us to take collagen to help replace what we have lost. Now, Buhner suggests not collagen itself, but the nutrients the body needs to produce collagen, on page 217, which I will list here (but not doses unless you need them):
Vitamin B complex daily, should include B-5, B-6, B-12, and folic acid. (should you have a mthfr mutation, you will need to be sure to use methylated B vitamins, for the folic acid and B-12 for better absorption).
Bone broth soup
Strong infusion of nettle, horsetail, oatstraw, and parsley
Echinacea angustifolia (NOT E. purpurea) tincture
Propolis, royal jelly, and bee pollen
Pine pollen tincture
Cod liver oil
Pueria lobata tincture
It takes a LOT of things to help our bodies rebuild our collagen! If you could start getting those things into your routines, that will help as you go along.
For a more immediate help with the pain itself, Buhner suggests: Bryonia homeopathic 30C
Arnica homeopathic 30C
Hypericum homeopathic 30C
Verbena Officinalis (Vervain) tincture
Motherwort fresh plant tincture (not dried plant)
Buhner also adds: If severe, add: Angelica tincture is useful for pain, especially when combined with salvia miltiorrhiza tincture.
On page 221, Buhner goes into a full Lyme arthritis protocol Entire collagen protocol (the one I posted above)
Celery seed tincture
Arthritis tea (page 238 - I'll post if you wish to consider it)
Cod liver oil
Cannabinoid oil topical and internal
Teasel root tincture
White willow bark tincture (very much like aspirin - from Trav)
Personally, I've been using turmeric with black pepper (4:1 mix) daily for most of my pain, and just resting if that doesn't take care of enough of it. I do have the Homeopathic arnica and Homeopathic rhus tox that I have used with *some success for my pain.
I also use passionflower, motherwort, and valerian daily to help my pain levels, as well as other things.
I do hope this is helpful!!!! If not, keep asking questions!

alyeska: I’m just allowing my extended family to come to a pretty messy house since they don’t care and am planning to take Benadryl (which I know is bad long term) to help me sleep on the nights before big events. It doesn’t always work, but I hope it does!
