Hi summer16!-
I am so sorry to hear that you are still dealing with this terrible anxiety. I am sorry that I don't have an answer for your question.
I was wondering if you have ever had your adrenal function tested? Your adrenals might be struggling.
Best Wishes!

Thanks, LB, for posting. Yea, this anxiety is horrible. My endo only would do the midnight cortisol and it is within limits. Amazing they don't listen to their patients! Nightime (after 10pm) is the only time I have relief from the anxiety....thank heaven. I know Trav has told me how much she was taking but, as usual, I have forgotten.
I just ordered some CBS help oil and I am hoping that will help. They say it helps some people. I hope I am one of them.

Patty - you mean CBD oil, from hemp, right? (i'm thinking those are just typos on your post)

Hey Patty, I"m so sorry! If you can afford to have it done, there is a lab that I know of that does the 4 point saliva testing for adrenals. You can find the saliva test, as well as others, here: True Health Labs I take a fairly large dose - 2 droppers full in the am and 3 droppers full at night about 30 minutes before bed. If I need to take more during the day, I can still though. If I have a panic attack setting in, I take 2 droppers full in hot (tap) water, and do what I can to calm myself and stop the panic attack and it usually works fairly well. I make my own Avena sativa using the folk method, so I'm not sure just what strength it is, but for you, I would encourage you to fine one that is fairly strong. Remember a 1:1 is stronger than a 1:3 or 1:5 tincture. No, I did not have loose stools from motherwort - but I deal with a great deal of constipation, so I'm not prone to having loose stools. You may need to try vervain as well. Buhner suggests it and I know that there are Lyme patients that have found it helpful for them.

I wonder why your endo Dr. would do the midnight cortisol? So, you are saying that they only tested your cortisol once during the day? I don't know how they are going to know how your adrenals act throughout the day by only testing once in the day.
"Amazing they don't listen to their patients!" Oh, I have so many stories and dumb comments that I have gotten from doctors throughout the years. Half the time I would have been better off staying at home and telling my dog all of my symptoms!
I hope that the CBD oil helps relieve your anxiety. I have also read that this can help people.

Oh, gosh. I can't believe I typed cbs help. Yes, I ordered cbd hemp from bluebird botanicals.
I had 2 appointments with the endo and both times asked for the 4point saliva test. Endos are scarce around this area.
Thank you, Trav, for the info. I was taking 35 drops and it is good to know that I can up to a higher dose. The bottle does say up to 50 drops.
Thank you all for your gracious inputs.
Patty. xo

Trav, are you still dealing with anxiety?? Patty Yes. Fortunately, it's at low levels mostly now though so that something as simple as staying on the Avena sativa helps control it. Previously, not even 50 mgs (edited to correct dosage - it was only 5 mg!!!!!) of Xanax would help. I totally lost it in certain circumstances, as my nervous system was on overload. I learned to be very careful to keep the music that I listened to all day very low and relaxing/calming, no fluorescent lighting (they have a nearly imperceptible flicker that affected me terribly), no loud sudden noises - then I was careful to be sure that I was taking anti-inflammatories that would help all over, but also lower the inflammation in my brain and nervous system. I even told my mom that if she couldn't stop bringing stress into my life (she's a real 'drama queen'), that I could no longer talk to her until after I was healed, because I was that sick and serious about healing. It worked! LOL! Are you getting any help at all with your anxiety with the things you are taking now?

I suffer from bad anxiety/depression, I even gave up driving for a while because of it. I found that Lavender and Frankincense helps me a lot. I have to take that to drive locally. I refuse to drive long distance. I take it even when I go out with my husband to the stores or wherever we go. I can't stand to be around crowds n a lot of traffic. I go into anxiety attack and have to leave wherever I am at. I take my lavender/Frankincense and I am able to deal with whatever.
I also walk away from people that bring drama into my life. EX: my family ( biggest drama about LD n faking it!) I just stopped talking to my best friend of 30 yrs, because of her bs drama and being an ass to me! It hurts to have to do things like that, but for my own sanity I walked away, It was making me sicker to have to deal with stress/anxiety. Now I have gotten rid of those around me that caused me stress and anxiety, I feel so much better! My family and suppose of been best friend where the worse of all! I just have my hubby and a certain lymie sister that I associate with. If anyone stresses me out, see ya, don't want to be ya! I stay to myself, which I find is the best way to be!
This is just my opinion and what I do to rid stress/anxiety!

I too have walked away from family members, "friends" and others that bring too much stress into my life. Right now, we are dealing with my step-daughter and her choices on raising her children. They are just completely unruly - screaming literally all night long when they are up here for a visit - and that simply can't go on. She has zero understanding of what missing one night's sleep does to either me or my hubby (although he's finally doing so much better after his neck fusion!!). For me, it takes me literally weeks to catch up on one night of missed sleep - for hubby, it would cause massive migraines for 3 days, followed by another week of being in a lot more pain. This is something that simply can't continue.
We have no desire to interfere with how she chooses to raise her kids, so now that hubby will be able to travel easier, we will start only doing "day trips" down to visit them. Problem solved, sort of. For me, it's a matter of controlling whatever I can and avoiding what I can't so that my anxiety and sleep don't get interfered with as this is the most basic of things for me to not end up bed ridden yet again. And that's just not a place to live your life from!

Trav, I am sure you didn't mean 50 mg of Xanax......maybe 5? I think that I may feel a little relief from the motherwort, calming formula and avena sativa. I did receive the CBD oil and now I am leary to try it. Go figure.
I have so much stress in my life. Taking care of my wonderful husband is a challenge with this anxiety. I have absolutely no patience and put rage on top of this makes a disastrous situation. I do try so hard not to stress him. Gosh, I need to get better so I can take better care of him. For those that do not know....my hubby had a brain bleed 3 years ago and almost died from sepsis from a massive throat infection (intubation problem). He is left with some perception problems and right eye peripheral vision loss. He can no longer drive, has reading difficulties and needs verbal cues for some tasks. It can be quite trying at times when dealing with this anxiety.
I have a friend who is an artist and singer that is quite sick. She's been very needy and talks about suicide. I just can't ignore her. It is taking a great toll on me.
Anyway, I will be seeing a new LLMD this Tuesday. I am curious if he is the right fit. I will be back in treatment once again and looking fowars to it even though I know it will hurt before it gets better.
Love to all.
Patty

Ha ha ha, you're right! It was only 5 mgs! Boy, it's a good thing that I'm not involved with the pharma drugs any longer!!! Ha ha ha! (okay, that's embarrassing! LOL!) I'm glad you are finding that the combination of the motherwort, avena sativa, and calming formula are helping some. I hope that the cannabis will help even more! I had forgotten that it was your hubby that had the brain bleed, Patty! That's something that I have had to be very concerned about with my own hubby, as he has been using warfarin for his Factor V (blood clotting too much) issues for the last 9 years now and has fallen and hit his head many times. We have been extremely lucky that he has not had any brain bleeds at this point in time. I hope your friend is looking for professional help! Not sure what all is happening with her, but she definitely needs to have/get a doctor that can be of help with her illness and can help her with meds/herbs for the serious issues that are causing her to talk about suicide. While I understand how stressful it is on you, who would we be if we turned away from those that were reaching out for help like that??? Please do let me know if you believe I can be of any help in any way with information for your friend. And I do hope that you can get away at least once in a while from all of this. While I know it's your husband, you still need time to de-stress. I have to get away once in a while. I used to just go visit my daughter for a weekend a few times a year (only a 3 hour drive, so I could come home pretty quickly if needed, and my hubby can be left alone), but maybe you could research ways for you to get some help to come in once a month or so to allow you to go have a cup of coffee, or whatever even just for a hour? Oh! Best of luck with this new LLMD!!! Please do let us know how it goes and what you think!!!

I am so sorry to hear about your husband. That must have been so scary! Sending you many (((HUGS!!)))
It can be such a struggle to help others when we are dealing with an Lyme and co's. I also have a friend that has health issues. I feel terrible, because sometimes I don't answer my phone when she calls because I am suffering too much emotionally or physically. Personally, I can't deal with long phone calls because it takes a toll on me. It burns me out and I pay for it.
I hope that your new LLMD will be able to help you! Please do keep us updated as to how your appointment went!
Best Wishes!

Well, caved in and am taking half a tab of .05 of Ativan. It works but now I am leary about coming off it. My family convinced me to take it for my own sanity. I am one tough copkie but the anxiety brought me to my knees. I have been dealing with this since January. I lost 25 pounds (total of 40). I am way too thin and the anxiety was causing poor appetite.
Trav, how long were you on Xanax?

My friend has protracted withdrawals from Valium. I , too, have not answered my phone calls from her. Not often but enough to make me feel guilty.
Trav, I am unable to leave my husband. He becomes fearful when I am not nearby. So sad! I am grateful that I still have him. I see that you and your hubby are battling issues, too. It does cause extra stress for us.

Trav, how long were you on Xanax? Patty Patty - is it something you need to take every day? When you take just the one dose - does it last for the entire day? I know when my Dad was on it...it didn't and he ended up taking it twice...then three times...etc. I know when my anxiety hit me - it was horrible....I had bouts of depression mixed in with it...As soon as I woke in the morning...before I even got out of bed...it was there...what a God-awful way to start the day. I started seeing a counsellor and she gave me little tricks to do - gratitude journal, and I had these little sticky notes all over the house - positive sayings...etc. None of it worked. I understand why you're taking it. I was fortunate that it just cleared on it's own in my case.
