Hi The Dude!
I like the old movies as well.. I always check to see what's on Turner Classic Movies and if it sounds good I DVR it... My favorites are Cary Grant, George Sanders, Bette Davis, Barbara Stanwyck, and the list goes on...
Sometimes I think I was born in the wrong era.. I still dream of horses with buggies and cobblestone streets (no cars)... LOLOL!!!
Good to see you here! Denise

We just saw “Downsizing.” Don’t spend your money. We took our three teenagers to an eat-in theater for a big night out, and all of us walked out of there feeling like we had just wasted two hours of our lives. The premise was interesting, but one of my sons and I really wanted to see it because we thought it was a comedy. One of the funny scenes in the trailers (where a giant bottle of vodka lands in the town and everyone cheers) wasn’t even in the film. It had some good messages about greed and the environment, but we wanted to escape in a comedy. There may be a few funny parts, but mostly it was just kind of preachy.
One of my teenage daughter’s friends said she hated it and thought it was going to be funny too. I don’t get why they’d reel you into going to a movie by playing previews with scenes that aren’t even in the movie.

Continuing my Doris Day streak, here are two more movies I watched in the past week: On Moonlight Bay (1951) www.dorisday.net/on-moonlight-bayBy the Light of the Silvery Moon (1953) www.dorisday.net/by-the-light-of-the-silvery-moonThose are Parts I and II of the same story. I really enjoyed them, but, then again, I'm a sucker for those old, corny romantic movies - especially musicals. Before these movies, I was not familiar with Gordon MacRae. I really liked him. Plus, he looked so familiar. It wasn't until near the end of the second movie that I realized why. It was because he and Michael Bublé share some similar features. Sadly, Gordon passed-away in January 1986, at the age of 64.

Ok, has anyone seen Black Panther yet? I’ve seen it twice. Michonne, my favorite character from The Walking Dead, is one of the main characters! Also, there are two trailers, so stay through the credits. I wish the first trailer had been part of the movie. It has a great message. It’s really visually stunning. This is the best Marvel movie I’ve ever seen, IMHO. My boys love the franchise, so I’ve seen a lot of them!

My family (majority: male) loves action movies. We just went to see BLACK PANTHER, and it is by far my favorite Marvel movie. Not only did it have lots of strong female characters, but it was also very pro-peace. If you see it, be sure to watch after the credits. There are actually two scenes at the end. The first one should have been included in the movie IMHO. Wow, I wish that nation really existed! Oh, and for you Walking Dead fans, Michonne is one of the main characters!

I have been browsing online more than 3 hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It is pretty worth enough for me. Personally, if all site owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the net will be much more useful than ever before.

Hi Columbus, welcome to our little community!
Thank you for your kind words! But were you talking about just this one thread, or the entire forum?
I did remove your link, as that's not allowed here, sorry.
