I’m pretty much just in bed or on the couch at the moment. Any suggestions? I could really use some comedies right now. I do love zombies though!

So, you watch the Walking Dead and Fear of the Walking Dead? We watch those - somehow my hubby got me watching!!! LOL!
I like the show "Jack Ryan" on Amazon Prime video right now, but I've been a fan of that character since he was created! LOL! I've read all of the books with that character, and have seen all the movies that character has been in!! LOL!
We don't watch a lot of comedies - not sure exactly why though. LOL.

Well, yes I have seen it. The shows by Andy Yeatman on Netflix are stupendous because there is a lot to learn from these shows and also because of their entertainment level. I am glad I found this kind of kids’ content for my kids. They are grooming well.

We watched "Outlaw King" last night. Loved the movie!! It's about my own family history (I'm literally a direct decendant of "Robert the Bruce", through his daughter in the movie). Now, it's very violent, as it was back in those times, but the movie is based on actual historical events and I do like those movies!

We just started watching "Sinner' or is it "The Sinner" I think it's Netflix...or maybe it's Crave...can't remember.
It's not a comedy though....it's kind of brutal...not sure if I will continue watching it.
I went to the movie theatre 3X in a week's time to see Bohemian Rhapsody. Queen was my favorite group when I was younger. So, I went to the movie with a friend....and then went with another friend...and finally a third time with my husband.
It was so well done...

Girlie, didn’t the guy who played Freddie win an Oscar? I don’t really keep up with that stuff, but I do like that actor. It must have been good! Ci can’t wait for it to come out on Netflix.

I just recently started watching the series “Doc Martin” on PBS and then on Hulu. It’s a medical comedy with a little drama thrown in. British humor. The main character is a jerk, but you can’t help loving him for some reason. He has so many faults that it’s funny. I think he’s supposed to be on the spectrum, so he has no social skills and is brutally honest too. He says what you’d WANT to say in almost every situation. They even did a show on Lyme and showed a woman suffering from hallucinations because of it, but it was barely mentioned until the end. They basically just sent her off in an ambulance without much follow up, but at least it was taken seriously. (Season 4, episode 5 “The Departed”) I like it so much that I want to buy more of the shows on Amazon. Tough choice... supplements or Doc Martin. Oh, and the scenery almost makes you feel like you’ve been on a vacation! The town where it’s filmed is beautiful.

I've actually been thinking of watching this for a while now, but couldn't really get started into it. Now, I'll try again! We've been watching "The Good Doctor" which is about a young man on the spectrum that made it to become a doctor (sort of - I don't want to give away the entire thing!). Anyway, I've so loved his humor and ability to state the obvious! LOL!

I would have loved watching Doc Martin with him! He would have gotten a kick out of it I think.

Between hubby and I, we sit there and critique the medical dramas. As long as they stick pretty close to reality, then we continue to watch. Things like people 'ripping' IV's out of their arms and walking away - I mean that's just goofy!! LOL! There would be blood dripping out of the person's arm if they didn't apply at least a little bit of pressure!
Otherwise, we do watch a lot of the medical dramas, and crime dramas, and other weird shows. LOL.

I just started watching A Discovery of Witches. I’ve only seen two episodes so far, but they’ve been pretty good. I’m reading the book, and the show seems to be keeping pretty close to it so far. I love the main actress in it. I’ve only seen her a couple of times. The main guy played Princess Margaret’s husband in The Crown.
The only thing that’s bugging me is that the main woman, a witch, is falling in love with the main guy, a vampire. In the book he craves her blood and is always afraid he’ll kill her, so I hope it doesn’t end up being just a different version of Twilight.
One great thing... they’re professors at Oxford, so the scenery and backgrounds have been AMAZING!

I have yet to see if it’s really going to be good. I love libraries and books though, especially cool old ones like illustrated manuscripts and the alchemical ones the main character is studying, and a lot of the book so far takes place in the Bodleian at Oxford. I actually got to see the Book of Kells in Ireland once! My family members are also blibliophiles. Both of my brothers are media specialists (librarians) and my daughter is a page at our city’s library. We are definitely book hoarders in this family! I hope the show lives up to the book so far. I’ve been sick, so I haven’t been reading as much lately.

I’ve been awake enough today to catch up on some of “The Good Doctor” episodes I DVRed. Did you see the very short but serious mention of Lyme disease as a possibility on one of them? I can’t remember exactly which patient it was... maybe the guy who was acting drunk and ended up having syphilis. I thought they addressed Lyme very well and seriously even though it was a very short mention. I REALLY wish one of these shows would do a story about a Lyme patient and all of the problems with diagnosis and testing instead of just giving it one line of dialogue.

Hi Alyeska, I started watching "The Good Doctor" and I love it! I'm only in the beginning of Season 2 and I'm hooked. I am also watching "The Resident" (on Hulu) which is really good (also Season 2). I can't binge watch because I'm still taking care of my 94 year old Mom. Another series that I am really enjoying is called "Damages" with Glenn Close, wow! I watch it on Hulu and if anyone has not seen it it's really worth it! Besides that I love "Killing Eve"... Hope everyone is doing okay, Denise

Nice to hear from you again, Denise!!!
And thank you for the suggestions!! I bet there are a lot of people looking for something new to watch now!
I've been thinking about trying "The Resident", so thanks for the recommendation!
We are doing okay down here, not much has really changed for us though - although grocery shopping trips are now only every 3 - 4 weeks, and masks of course.
I too hope that everyone is able to stay safe out there!!!
